1. About Us

Croydon Surveyors is a firm of RICS, CIOB and RPSA accredited surveyors providing residential and commercial property surveying services in Croydon and South London. References to "we", "us" or "our" refer to Croydon Surveyors.

2. Use of Our Website

By accessing and using our website at croydonsurveyors.com, you agree to comply with these terms. You may use our website for lawful purposes only and must not:

• Use the website in any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation
• Transmit any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material
• Knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses or any other harmful programs
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our website or any server, computer or database connected to our website
• Copy, reproduce or republish any content from this website without our prior written consent

3. Our Surveying Services

All surveying services are carried out by qualified, accredited surveyors in accordance with the relevant RICS professional standards and guidance notes, including:

• RICS Home Survey Standard (2021) for residential surveys
• RICS Valuation — Global Standards (Red Book)
• Party Wall etc. Act 1996 for party wall matters

A detailed Letter of Engagement will be issued prior to the commencement of any survey, setting out the full scope of services, fees and terms specific to your instruction.

4. Quotes and Fees

All fees quoted are inclusive of VAT (where applicable) unless stated otherwise. Quotations provided via our website calculator or contact form are indicative estimates only and are subject to confirmation following a full assessment of the property details.

Final fees will be confirmed in the Letter of Engagement issued before the survey is instructed. Fees become payable upon instruction and are due prior to the release of the survey report, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Survey Reports

Our survey reports are prepared for the sole use of the named client and for the specific purpose stated in the Letter of Engagement. They must not be relied upon by any third party without our express written consent.

Reports are based on a visual inspection of the property at the time of the survey. We are not responsible for defects that were not visible or accessible at the time of inspection, including items that were concealed, covered or not within the agreed scope of inspection.

Survey reports will normally be delivered within 3–5 working days of the inspection. Expedited delivery may be available on request and may be subject to an additional fee.

6. Limitation of Liability

Our liability to you in connection with any survey or service is limited as follows:

• Our total liability shall not exceed the fee paid by you for the specific service in question, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence
• We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, special or incidental loss or damage arising out of or in connection with our services
• We carry professional indemnity insurance as required by RICS, details of which are available on request

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

7. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel an instruction prior to the survey taking place. Cancellation terms are as follows:

• More than 48 hours before the survey: Full refund, no cancellation fee
• 24–48 hours before the survey: 50% of the agreed fee will be retained
• Less than 24 hours before the survey or on the day: The full fee will be retained

Cancellation requests must be made in writing via email or our contact form.

8. Complaints Procedure

We are committed to providing an excellent level of service. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our services, please contact us in the first instance so that we can attempt to resolve the matter promptly:

• Contact us using our online contact form
• We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days
• We aim to provide a full written response within 21 days

If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may refer the matter to RICS (for RICS-regulated services) or the relevant professional body. Details are available at rics.org.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, images, graphics, logos and survey report templates, is the intellectual property of Croydon Surveyors or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

Survey reports produced by us remain our intellectual property until full payment has been received, at which point the copyright in the report transfers to you for personal use only.

10. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We have no control over the content of those sites and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Your continued use of our website or services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
